South African media personality and socialite, Khanyi Mbau, recently made headlines once again on social media. The reality TV star became the talk of the town after an old clip of her showing off her sleek dance moves at a club resurfaced.

Earlier on, youngsters on TikTok were mesmerised by how iconic Mbau has been from a younger age, which led them to creating a dance challenge, Khanyi Core, impersonating her iconic moves, which quickly went viral, as it led to the reality TV star reacting to it on her Instagram page, expressing her gratitude to the Gen Zs for always highlighting the positive impact she made in the entertainment industry.

The forever outspoken media personality and actress Khanyisile Mbau was born on 15 October 1985 at the Florence Nightingale Hospital in Johannesburg and raised in Soweto, South Africa.

Mbau has hosted several popular shows and featured in the most-viewed TV series in South Africa. She credits her mother and grandparents for laying a foundation for her success. Khanyi's younger half-sibling, Lasizwe Dambuza, is also an entertainer and media personality.
