Many netizens have been wondering how DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small became close friends and partners in the music industry. Recently, the 32-year-old Amapiano star opened up about how he first met Madumoney.

An online user @PianoConnectSA posted a video of the Scorpion Kings latest interview on X (formerly Twitter), where Kabza shared all the details of how getting a phone call from Phori, someone he looked up to, changed his life completely.

Kabza, whose real name is Kabelo Motha, revealed in the interview that he didn't believe it when he got a call from him while he was at home in Mpumalanga.

"I have always been a big fan of DJ Maphorisa and his work, and so when I first got his call when I was at home in Mpumalanga from him, I felt a lot of emotions, I won't lie, because that phone call was the start of a great career that I didn't expect. Maphorisa changed my life, and that opportunity doesn't come easy or always, so when it presented itself, I grabbed it with both hands," Kabza said.

"Kabza had a plan to drop an album. We had a few songs that were hot at the time, and I compiled a quick list and told them, 'Let's drop this and call it Scorpion Kings."

Porry revealed that he used the zodiac sign Scorpio as inspiration for their first project, the Scorpion Kings EP, only to realise that while their birthdays are a week apart, they did not share a star sign.
