American rapper Cardi B sparked a heated discussion online after she attacked a journalist outside court before being cleared of battery and assault allegations.
Cardi B, who usually trends for her romantic relationships, hogged headlines for her outfits and wigs when she appeared in court for her assault trial. The rapper landed in hot water after a security guard, Emani Ellis, filed a civil lawsuit in 2020 over an alleged incident that happened in 2018.

In a video shared by blogger livebitez on Instagram on Tuesday, 2 September 2025, the mother of three threw a pen at a reporter outside an LA court who had asked a disrespectful question.

The journalist, known as donatpov on Instagram, had asked Cardi B if she was pregnant by her ex-husband, Offset.
"Hey Cardi, you’re beautiful. Insiders are claiming Offset is publicly bragging about getting you pregnant for the fourth time.”
The reporter then proceeded to ask Cardi B if she foresaw any ‘paternity issues with Stefon Giggs,’ the American professional footballer she went official with in June 2025.
After the question, Cardi B swiftly took a pen from a fan and chucked it at the reporter, yelling:
“Stop disrespecting me. Don’t disrespect me.”
The reporter attempted to placate Cardi, saying:
“I still love you even though you threw stuff at me.”
In response, Cardi B lectured the reporter on proper etiquette while calling him out for being disrespectful. She said:
“I don’t care. You’re disrespectful. Don’t do that. Do you see women asking those types of questions to me? Why do you feel as a man you have to ask me those types of questions?”
