Popular influencer Cyan Boujee returned to the stage over the weekend after she trended on social media last week for promoting a sketchy Russian programme.

The social media influencer also surprised South Africans when she admitted in a video that she saw red flags in the programme before she promoted it.

Social media user @maluda012 shared a video on her X account of the influencer dancing on stage on Saturday, 6 September 2025.

"I guess the hate is only online," she captioned the video.

Social media responds to Cyan's video

@blessmufari said:

"Even online, we secretly love her. Just check the number of bookmarks on her special X profile... mostly from men 🙈."

@Baby_ItsLia reacted:

"Yes, my darling. No one has expectations of Cyan being smart; they forgave her almost immediately."

@sooVogue_Moya replied:

"Lol, she must stop working because ya'll hate her? Ya'll were packed at Scorpion nton nton supporting an abuser. I hope she learned her lesson. Wish her nothing but the best. Life doesn’t go according to your double standards."

@MphoentlePitso wrote:

"She's performing in Marabastaad. They know nothing about what's happening around the world, or X, they just use free mode Facebook, so they have zero clue how vile she is."

@LorraineNy46109 commented:

"I got 2 friends that got no clue of what's happening around them, all they care about is groove and what's happening in Skeem Saam and Scandal, no news or nothing."

"South Africans at Groove will worship the devil if he appears on stage. It's got to do with literacy and mentality. Put Cyril on the same stage with the same music and see the crowd cheer him on. Loud music drowns common sense."

@madamkimberlly reacted:

"And that’s South Africa, our land for you. Next month, they will be praising her and saying she’s the strongest girl in the world."

@SelowaRomeo commented:

"This is how ANC keeps winning elections, they talk badly but vote them into power."

@ZethuMbona32100 replied:

"Exactly! Ask Julius Malema on X, everybody loves the EFF. They are still voting."

@Ncanyana11 replied:

"She was in Nelspruit, don’t mind them. They’re slow and behind on everything."
