Angolan-South African rapper Priddy Ugly, real name Ricardo Moloi, opened up about how he and his wife were hijacked in 2015.

Speaking in an interview with DJ Fresh on 22 August 2025, the Ntja'ka hitmaker detailed a story of how several armed robbers stole his father's car:

"Bontle and I were driving and stopped at a garage in the area. A Golf 4 parked in front of us, and before I knew it, four guys came out."

The father of two revealed that while he was lost in his admiration of the gold Volkswagen with chrome rims, his then-girlfriend Bontle Moloi was the first to notice the men stepping out of the car coming for them:

"Bontle saw it first before I even did, because I was still admiring the car, trying to remember which one of my friends drove it. Then Bontle immediately starts praying, she's going 'Oh no, oh no!'"

He highlighted that while they dragged him out of the car, they continuously hit him with their guns because he asked them not to harm his wife: "Please, don't touch the girl."

Priddy revealed on DJ Fresh's podcast, WAW! What A Week that after the robbers drove off with their car, one of them returned and held a gun to his head:

"I just remember covering Bontle and thought, 'Lord, this is where I'm gonna go."

The incident happened on Youth Day, 16 June, in Kempton Park, Gauteng. According to De Wet De Villiers Brokers, the area is a hotspot due to its busy roads and high traffic volumes, especially around the R21 highway.
