The Russian Alabuga recruitment scandal may have set influencer Seemah back after losing millions of followers, but she is committed to rectifying the situation.
Having been tied to the alleged trafficking saga masked as job opportunities promoted by South African influencers, Seemah faced backlash and was accused of being complicit in a potentially dangerous operation.
After her now-viral meltdown responding to the backlash, Seemah is committed to moving forward by rebuilding her reputation.
Since the scandal, she has not only lost her TikTok page of 2.8 million followers, but she is now being labelled a trafficker. Seemah spoke in an interview on Podcast and Chill on 1 September, saying the backlash was too much to bear.
"How am I gonna get my followers back? People are calling me a human trafficker. My name is being dragged because of this thing, I can't even defend myself because I don't have a platform."
However, like a phoenix, Seemah has risen above the drama and is making a comeback. She has begun to rebuild her reputation and is slowly recovering her followers after creating a new TikTok page.

Currently sitting at just 4,470 followers, Seemah is apologetic about the harm she caused her young supporters.
She creates the same type of content that her fans loved, including dance videos and hilarious skits with her partner Ghost Hlubi. Most importantly, she uses it to raise awareness about potential dangers on social media.
