Eastern Cape-based musician Nkokheli “Volo Da Saint” Twabu, who died in Durban on Sunday, 16 November 2025, posted his wife on his Instagram account before he passed away.

Twabu is the second popular DJ to pass away from a car accident this year after DJ Poizen, who died in Limpopo in August 2025.

The family of the Eastern-born DJ confirmed his passing in a statement on Tuesday, 18 November 2025, on Facebook.

The Twabu Family has announced the passing of their beloved son, Nkokheli Twabu, known to many as 'DJ Volo Da Saint'. He passed away after a car accident near King Shaka Airport on 16 November 2025 at around 10 am," reads the statement.

The family has asked the public for prayers, support, and space during this difficult time.

Details about the memorial service and funeral will be released soon once the family has met and finalised arrangements.

DJ Volo da Saint's last Instagram post was on 4 November 2025, before he died on 16 November 2025.

"Thank you for making me a man, Madlamini❤️," he wrote.

The DJ's post reveals that he just paid lobola for his wife, who is expecting his baby.

South Africans respond to Volo's death

@sai_nomafusi said:

"Yoooh, hai kodwa bawo. It had only been 20 days betshatile (married) yini bawo? (What's happening). I'm so, so heartbroken."

Wandile Trevor Makhubela replied:

"He passed away in a car accident. He was newly married, and his wife was pregnant. The family says he received a message that his wife was in labour, and he either flew or drove to Durban to be there for the birth. Sadly, he got into an accident near King Shaka Airport and died at the scene. He never got the chance to meet his child. They say his date of death is the same day his baby was born."

Chymamusique bids farewell to DJ Poizen

In more entertainment news, Briefly News previously reported that talented artist and music producer Chymamusique is mourning his friend, DJ Poizen, after their fatal car accident.

The DJ took to his Instagram account on Monday evening, 8 September 2025, to say goodbye to Poizen.

South Africans comforted Chymamusique after he shared that he was out of the ICU after several operations.
