Podcaster and activist Ntsiki Mazwai has taken aim at DJ Sbu after claiming he used his Radio 2000 show to ridicule her for speaking openly about women's sexuality.
On 8 August 2026, Ntsiki posted a candid tweet offering women a lighthearted heads-up about life in their forties.
"I think I should warn you that in your forties, you are horny ALL THE TIME. I just feel you should know. Maybe prepare and make sure you have a man for this era of your life."
The post was meant as a frank, humorous piece of advice, but it quickly became the subject of controversy after Ntsiki alleged DJ Sbu brought it up during his morning show and used it to mock her, even suggesting she had been drunk when she wrote it.

Ntsiki, who is the City of Johannesburg's mayoral candidate, responded with a video addressed directly to the station, pushing back against what she described as deliberate misrepresentation. She made clear that no man had the authority to police how women choose to express themselves.
"Women have the right to exist. Women have the right to their own thoughts. Women especially have the right to their sexuality... May I humbly request that your DJs on radio do not degrade me by telling me that I'm drunk because I'm speaking about women's sexuality."

DJ Sbu denies the claims
When DJ Sbu responded on air on 11 August, he flatly denied her version of events. "She's lying," he said, before going on to reference the original tweet and suggest it crossed a line.
"I said certain things we shouldn't say on Women's Day."
Sbu insisted that he had no intention of policing any woman's body and declared he "wants no smoke," adding that he loves Ntsiki and was puzzled by her reaction.
Ntsiki was not buying it. She rejected his on-air response as dishonest rather than accountable.
"This is not accountability; it's a lie. You talked about Autumn Harvest and even the other drink. Not only are you a misogynist you're also a liar. Sies."
