A hardware store became the unlikely stage for one of the most entertaining exchanges South Africans have seen in a while. On 9 August 2026, prankster page @JD Pranks posted a Facebook video that quickly had viewers pausing mid-scroll to watch it twice.

The clip shows the prankster approaching a woman browsing hardware items, asking whether she had a contractor lined up to handle work at her home. When she said she planned to do it herself, he leaned into the bait, making dismissive remarks suggesting women were not cut out for that kind of job.

Woman's comeback steals the show

He got exactly the reaction he was fishing for, just not in the way he expected. The woman did not flinch. She looked him dead in the eye and said, with full sarcasm, that she would Google how to use the items she was buying. Then, without missing a beat, she switched gears entirely and said she was going to use one of the items to pee on it. The response was so unexpected and so perfectly timed that it left little room for a comeback.
