South African dancer Limpopo Boy has broken his silence over the scandal that rocked Mzansi, issuing a heartfelt public apology after a private video of him with a married woman leaked online.
On 12 August 2026, the controversial entertainer posted a formal statement on his Instagram page, directed at the people of South Africa. In it, he acknowledged the widespread hurt his actions had caused and made clear he was not looking to make excuses.
"I know that what has happened has caused pain, anger, disappointment and many difficult emotions. I have heard the voices of South Africans, and I understand that many people have been disappointed by what has unfolded."
Limpopo Boy addresses Matshidiso Matilda affair
At the heart of the controversy is his alleged involvement with Matshidiso Matilda, who is married. Limpopo Boy maintained that he was unaware of her marital status at the time and only found out after the footage surfaced.

"I only discovered after the video was leaked that she was married. I should have independently verified her marital status before sharing a private moment with her. Instead of doing that, I threw caution to the wind and now paying the price for my poor judgement."
He was keen to distance himself from the label of home-wrecker, saying his upbringing in a Christian household instilled in him a deep respect for the sanctity of marriage. He added that adultery and infidelity go against the values he was raised with, and offered a direct apology to Matshidiso Matilda's family for the anguish the situation has brought them.
"I am sorry to everyone who has been hurt, disappointed or distressed in any way. I do not want to make excuses, dismiss anyone's feelings or pretend that words alone can undo what has happened."

Choosing humility over defensiveness
Beyond addressing the affair, Limpopo Boy acknowledged that the fallout had touched his own family and posed a real threat to his reputation as a public figure. Rather than deflect blame, he said he was choosing to sit with the discomfort of accountability.
The fallout from the leaked video and affair allegations has tarnished Limpopo Boy's public image, leaving his once-celebrated reputation hanging in the balance.
He described his approach as "humility over defensiveness, choosing to listen, reflect and learn from my mistake," framing the entire ordeal as a painful but necessary lesson.
The statement comes shortly after his friend Skomota admitted to being the person who leaked the private video, something Skomota later apologised for publicly. With both men now having spoken out, the saga that gripped South Africa appears to be entering a new chapter, even if the damage to Limpopo Boy's public image remains a work in progress.
