Two of South Africa's most celebrated actresses are heading to e.tv. Winnie Ntshaba and Jo-Anne Reyneke have been confirmed as leads in a brand-new primetime telenovela titled ‘Land of Mills and Money’, with the show set to debut on Monday, 31 August 2026.
Entertainment commentator page @TvblogbyMLU broke the casting news on X on 13 August 2026, writing:
"Two powerhouses, Winnie Ntshaba and Jo-Anne Ryeneke, join new Telenovela on eTV. Titled Land of Mills and Money is set to occupy the 7 PM slot on the channel and will debut on 31st Aug 2026."
What Land of Mills and Money is about
The daily drama unfolds in Shonalanga, a fictional Mpumalanga town, weaving together themes of ambition, power, greed, and buried secrets. At the centre of the story is Phiwe, a police officer played by Nelisiwe Sibiya, whose world unravels after she gets entangled in a heist and is left carrying a dangerous secret from those closest to her, including her partner Muzi Mhlongo, portrayed by Zamani Mbatha.

Ntshaba takes on the role of Mazwi Mhlongo, a township matriarch, while Reyneke plays a character named Thembi. Rounding out the ensemble are Themba Ndaba and Kenneth Nkosi, giving the production serious firepower across its cast.
