Ginuwine, Tyrese and Case Wow Mzansi at Ndlala Grandeur R&B Festival

South African R&B fans were treated to a weekend they will not forget in a hurry, as the second Ndlala Grandeur festival wrapped up on Sunday after three nights of electrifying performances from both local and international acts.

American R&B heavyweights Ginuwine, Case and Tyrese Gibson flew in to join South African favourites Zonke, Vusi Nova, Brian Temba and Press for the star-studded celebration of the genre.

Ginuwine pledges to return to SA

Ginuwine, whose 1996 smash Pony remains one of R&B's most recognisable tracks, was among the international artists honoured with a Ndlala Walk of Fame Star over the course of the weekend. The singer left no doubt about how much he enjoyed the experience, telling the crowd:

"I love all y'all, and I'm happy that y'all came out, so I appreciate you. I wanna come back soon."

Case echoed those sentiments after his own set, saying he would happily return to South Africa if the invitation came again. He too walked away with a Ndlala Walk of Fame Star recognising his contribution to music.

How the three nights unfolded

The festival opened on Friday with Grammy-winning singer Mýa making her South African performance debut, marking a milestone moment for local R&B enthusiasts. She opened the evening ahead of RL, with Zonke closing out the night. Both Mýa and Zonke were also presented with Walk of Fame Stars.

Saturday carried the nostalgic mood forward, with Vusi Nova delivering an emotional set before passing the baton to Case, who had the audience singing along to his classic Best Man I Can Be. Ginuwine then closed the second night with a selection of his biggest hits and paid a moving tribute to the late Aaliyah by performing Miss You.

Sunday's grand finale was headlined by Tyrese Gibson, the Grammy-nominated singer, actor and songwriter, who performed to a sold-out crowd. Brian Temba and Press warmed up the audience before Tyrese took the stage and brought the weekend to a rousing close, rounding off three nights of nostalgia, classic R&B and genuine connection between international stars and their South African fans

Brandy is coming to South Africa

Remoakantse Holdings announced that US R&B icon Brandy is heading back to South Africa for a December 2026 concert.

Brandy expressed her excitement about returning to Mzansi, promising fans an unforgettable night filled with her timeless hits.
