Penny Ntuli reveals her secret

But there was more to the story than just a romantic proposal. Ntuli shared a touching account of how the lead-up had actually been a quiet test of Zulu's character. She explained that while Zulu had been telling her about his plans to hold a ceremony at his home, she began asking him for an allowance during this time. He obliged each time, often giving her even more than she asked for.

"Well, long story short, I was only testing what he would say if I asked him for money," Ntuli revealed.

What Zulu did not realise was that Penny had been setting every rand aside. When he finally joked about wanting his money back, she stunned him by returning the full amount she had saved.

"Since he started working in June, he's given me about 31K; he didn't know he had 31K in savings."
