Mzansi fans were left stunned when police allegedly pulled the plug on the Scorpion Kings Live concert at FNB Stadium, cutting the night short just as DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small took to the stage one final time. Footage from the 19 September 2026 event quickly spread across social media, capturing the chaotic and confusing moment.
According to X user @maetsebane, the duo had stepped back on stage simply to express gratitude to the 74,000+ fans who had supported them through another massive show. As confetti rained down around them, the sound was abruptly cut, leaving the two artists visibly bewildered and searching for answers on stage. A member of their team then approached them to relay the police's order that the event be shut down immediately.
Fans speculate on the reason
It remains unclear exactly what prompted the police to intervene. Neither Kabza De Small nor DJ Maphorisa has publicly addressed the incident since it occurred.
