Philimon ‘Mr Moloto’ Moloto Hit With 7 Additional Charges in Malicious Damage to Property Case

Skeem Saam actor Philimon Tsebe Moloto, widely known as Mr Moloto on social media, now faces a total of nine charges after the State added seven new counts against him when he appeared in the Polokwane Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, 22 September 2026. The new charges include arson, five counts of attempted murder and trespassing, all linked to allegations involving his former business partner.

Moloto, who runs the Limpopo Anti-Drug, Gangsterism and Crime Rehabilitation Centre in Polokwane, originally appeared in court on two counts of malicious damage to property. Those charges stem from allegations that he set alight his former business partner's vehicle and business signage. His legal team did not oppose the State's application to add the additional charges.

The alleged incidents have taken a heavy toll on Moloto's former business partner, Rachidi, and her family. She described struggling with intense anxiety since her vehicle and part of her mother's house were allegedly set on fire in June 2026.

Rachidi also shared that her mother has been referred to a psychiatrist following the trauma.

Mr Moloto accused of breaching bail conditions

Beyond the new charges, Rachidi has accused Moloto of violating his bail conditions by allegedly contacting her through a private number. She reported the call to the investigating officer but said no action was taken.

The Polokwane-based non-profit Lentswe laka Foundation, which advocates against gender-based violence and femicide, has welcomed the additional charges. Founder Bridget Ramokone confirmed the organisation is actively monitoring both the case and the bail breach allegations, and that they have been engaging with the prosecutor and investigating officer.

The case has been postponed to 30 October 2026, when a determination by the Director of Public Prosecutions is expected.
