LIMPOPO — Anti-drug activist Tsebe Philimon Moloto, 51, appeared at the Polokwane Magistrates' Court as allegations of retaliatory arson attacks connected to a failed personal and professional relationship moved closer to trial.
The National Prosecuting Authority confirmed that Moloto was arrested and subsequently granted R50,000 bail in July. He now faces two consolidated charges of malicious damage to property in connection with incidents that allegedly took place on 28 June 2026 in Polokwane.
What the state alleges happened
Prosecutors allege that Moloto poured a flammable substance over a Toyota Hilux bakkie valued at R406,000, registered to his former girlfriend and business partner Patricia Rachidi, before setting it alight outside her family home in Seshego Zone 3.

On the same day, he allegedly torched a business signboard belonging to Rachidi's new drug rehabilitation facility in Ladanna, which operated in direct competition with his own work in the sector. The vehicle blaze spread to adjacent structures where members of the Rachidi family were sleeping at the time. No injuries were reported.
Who is Tsebe Philimon Moloto?
Widely known online as "Mr Moloto," the accused is the founder of Limpopo Anti-Drugs, Gangsterism and Crime, commonly referred to as LADGAC. He built a substantial social media following through documented, hands-on interventions targeting young people struggling with substance abuse in the region.
The backdrop to the charges is a relationship breakdown, described as both romantic and professional, between Moloto and Rachidi. The State contends that the arson attacks were driven by that deteriorating relationship and the emergence of Rachidi's competing rehabilitation business.
Bail conditions imposed
As a condition of his R50,000 bail, Moloto was required to surrender his passport and to keep his distance from Rachidi. Police are still in the process of finalising their investigations into the matter.
