MaWhoo has sent Mzansi into a frenzy after a shopping video of her casually browsing designer handbags and calling prices upwards of R7,000 "cheap" made the rounds on Instagram. The clip, shared by blog @entertainmentsa on Thursday, 1 October 2026, was filmed in what looked like a casual, vlog-style outing at an outlet store.
Shot indoors among glass cases filled with designer handbags and accessories, the video captures one half of the Zulu Queens reacting to price tags with unfiltered excitement. On-screen captions read "Oh, it's so cheap here, you know?" and "Wow, it's so cheap at this place," framing the whole thing as a lighthearted shopping adventure. Prices she referenced in the clip sat around the R7,500 to R7,600 mark, with another item clocking in at R1,000, which she also seemed delighted about.

Not everyone was laughing, though. @morobanelucky put it bluntly:
"R7, 700 is my salary. 😮😮😮😮"
@prudy_herself echoed that disbelief:
"For me to hear R7,700 and say ku cheap la ekhaya🕯🕯🕯"
@king_zein_ offered a gentle correction:
"Saying Cheap for anything over 5k lol no it's not cheap, it's reasonable 😂😂😂😂 nothing over 5k it's cheap"
@the_prodigal_son_of_jazz kept it precise: "That's not cheap, that's less expensive"
@gi.ven9558 gave MaWhoo some benefit of the doubt:
"I feel like the girl is used to spending a lot of money on Bottega, Gucci, and Chanel, so that's why, because those three things are very expensive 🫰"
@kmagolide1 threw in a cautionary note:
"Hopefully she is investing in the right places; we don't want to get involved with Capitec cards asking for help in the future"
And perhaps the most prophetic comment came from @_rebo_lee:
"Now Coach is gonna hike their prices aowa! 😂😭"
