Fans of Metro FM's beloved relationship segment are in for a treat. The Ask A Man feature, which has built a loyal audience, is officially making its television debut on S3, formerly known as SABC 3.
The channel confirmed in July 2026 that the long-running radio feature is being adapted into a full television show, giving the candid conversations about love, dating and modern relationships a much wider platform. Listeners have grown accustomed to hearing Somizi Mhlongo, Khutso Thaledi and Naked DJ (Quinton Masina) field real-life relationship dilemmas on air, and the TV version promises to deliver that same energy in a visual format.

What to expect from the TV adaptation
Rather than a straight copy of the radio format, the television show will lean into anonymous stories submitted by everyday South Africans. Hosts and relationship experts will unpack everything from situationships and break-ups to family conflict and marriage challenges, giving viewers a front-row seat to conversations that many recognise from their own lives.

SABC Video Entertainment marketing manager Dichaba Phalatse spoke to the show's purpose, saying: "As S3, we believe the most powerful conversations begin with real people and real experiences. 'Ask A Man' has already earned the trust of audiences on Metro FM by creating a space for honest dialogue around relationships and life's complexities."
Metro FM acting business manager Siyanda Fikelephi added that the segment had outgrown its radio slot over the years, describing it as a safe space where listeners could bring their most personal dilemmas and receive honest, unfiltered responses.

Premiere date and where to watch
Ask a Man will make its official television debut on 2 November at 7 pm on S3. For viewers who prefer streaming, the show will also be available on SABC Plus.
One question still hanging in the air is who will front the TV version. According to DailySUN, S3 has not yet revealed the presenting lineup, with those announcements expected closer to the premiere date.
