Selena Gomez has gone public with a personal admission about her vaping habit, revealing in a raw, unfiltered clip that nicotine has done lasting damage to her voice.

The video, shared via The Shade Room, shows Gomez speaking directly to camera in a selfie-style recording filmed inside what appears to be a casual home setting, with pink-toned walls and a window visible behind her. The tone is reflective and candid, with the former Disney star making clear she is not holding anything back.

Selena Gomez's honest warning to fans

In the clip, Gomez admitted that her voice has changed permanently as a result of heavy nicotine vaping. Rather than dwelling on regret, she used the moment to speak directly to fans who might be in a similar situation.

"I'm not going to be able to change my voice. I vaped nicotine a lot. Nicotine is so hard to quit. And I think I just wanted to say, if you're going through it, or if you're even trying to vape, it's just not worth it."

She acknowledged that some listeners might struggle with how she sounds now, adding with characteristic self-deprecating humour,

"If you guys don't like listening to my voice, that's totally understandable. I don't mind, just don't listen."

On a more hopeful note, she confirmed she has since stopped vaping and is committed to staying that way.

"I am really excited because I stopped, and I just hope we can keep it up. It's really hard, but I know if you are going through something, you can get through it too."
