Indeed, good things come to those who wait and continue to work hard. The former Idols SA finalist and music teacher, Monde Msutwana, recently won a prestigious award, one that has been highly sought after since he pursued his career in music.
According to a media statement shared with Briefly News, it was reported that Msutwana won a Grammy Award for Best Global Music Album. This happened because of his contribution to the album, Alkebulan II, by US artist MattB, featuring the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Monde expressed his gratitude after winning a Grammy
Monde, being the second person to win a Grammy award after Tyla, expressed his gratitude and how his hard work had paid off and cemented his name on the international stage.
"Receiving a Grammy on a personal level means that all I was doing all those years has paid off. Professionally, it elevates my artistry and gives my name and work more clout," he said.
Monde talks about his journey as a music teacher
The former Idols SA finalist further shared how he went from being a singer to a school music teacher at Reddford House, The Hills. He also mentioned his journey mentoring the students and how they reacted when they found out that Mtsuwana won an international award.
He said:
"I got into teaching to share my years of experience with young artists who have great ambition but limited knowledge. I recognised what the youth needed, and I knew I had it.
