A piece of footage shared by Durban content creators has left car enthusiasts across South Africa heartbroken after watching a beautiful Nissan GTR meet the mistress of misfortune. The viral video was posted on 4 September 2025, with the caption:
"No matter how bad your day is going, just imagine this bra just smashed a GTR, looks like a 50th Anniversary R35 too 😢"
The clip captured the moment when everything went terribly wrong. Content creators @dalaucrew, known for sharing funny videos and budget shopping tips, posted footage that had viewers covering their eyes in shock. The video showed a driver behind the wheel of a pristine metallic blue Nissan GTR preparing for what looked like a quick acceleration. However, within seconds of taking off, the powerful supercar appeared to lose control, swerving dramatically before crashing face-first into roadside barriers.
The incident happened so quickly that viewers could barely process what they were watching. The GTR, which appeared to be in perfect condition moments before, hit the barriers with significant force after the driver seemed unable to control the vehicle during acceleration. The person filming managed to capture the entire crash sequence before the recording ended once the damaged vehicle came to a stop.

The legendary Nissan GTR R35 legacy comes to an end
According to Wikipedia, the Nissan GT-R (model code R35) was a sports car built by the Japanese manufacturer from 2007 to 2025. The R35 50th Anniversary edition, which the crashed vehicle appeared to be, was introduced to South Africa in 2019 in very limited quantities and was priced well over R3 million.
The GTR was powered by a hand-built 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine producing 570 horsepower, making it one of the most powerful Japanese production vehicles ever made. Each engine was assembled by only nine "Takumi Craftsmen" mechanics in a dust-proof, temperature-controlled room, with each craftsman's name badged on every engine built. Production of the iconic supercar officially ended in August 2025, making vehicles like the one in the crash even more valuable and irreplaceable.
