A young Mzansi lady from Cape Town, Lihle, explained that she had to tweak her resume and create a facade to land a job. She was caught lying, but her eagerness is what made her boss promise to keep her in mind for other opportunities.

Lihle shared that she applied for her first waitressing job with prior experience and had to create a new reality to secure the job:

Most of them shared that lying during job interviews was the only way they could land a job after being unemployed for a while. Some exaggerated their work experience and their educational background to secure higher positions that pay well.

Lihle captioned her now-viral post:

“Life didn’t end when l went to an interview, where I lied about experience on a CV, and the interviewer folded his arms and said, ‘Girl, you are a liar’.”

The unemployment rate is at an embarrassingly all-time high, with people being desperate enough to work abroad under unimaginable conditions to support themselves and their families.
