South Africa split over small meat pack

While some people applauded Shoprite for catering to customers with any amount of money, others were not impressed. A number of online users cracked jokes about the small pieces of meat for the cheapest price possible.

Many felt that the beef was not useful, but there are cooking techniques used to make small amounts of meat count. A cooking blog, Destitute Gourmet, recommends shredding or thinly slicing meat. The easiest way to make a small amount of meat go a long way is to add vegetables. Adding grains such as lentils to minced meat also enhances small meat portions.
