In a video circulating online, the lion is seen lounging calmly in the middle of the road, forcing a line of cars to halt. According to the post shared by TikTok user @jeffreythekrugerranger on 1 September 2025 stated that the comments were directed at some visitors who had been opening their car doors earlier in an attempt to attract the lion’s attention. This behaviour, however, drew concern from others, as such actions are strictly discouraged within the park for safety reasons.

Despite the risky antics, the lion appeared unbothered, walking leisurely before moving away, much to the relief of the motorists. The brief encounter left many with a story to tell, though it also reignited conversations about visitor safety and park rules.

Kruger National Park officials have previously cautioned visitors to remain inside their vehicles at all times, warning that wild animals can be unpredictable.

“Opening doors or stepping out of your vehicle can endanger both visitors and wildlife,” a ranger said in a past statement.
