A social marketplace business had unsuspecting locals completely fooled when they staged a street prank featuring a Black Coffee lookalike in Cape Town. They posted the video of how they did it, on 4 August 2026.

In the video, Appetite, known on TikTok as @appetitesouthafrica, set up a speaker system, a branded banner and a full DJ-style setup at what appeared to be a grassy sunset spot in Cape Town. Before the moment, the crew then went in search of a man who looked enough like the world-famous South African DJ to convince passersby they were in the presence of a celebrity. This set the tone for the lighthearted chaos that followed. The team went through possible look-alikes before settling on their stand-in and asking him if he could groom his beard a specific way to complete the illusion.

They then staged him in the car and moving around the city as people did a double-take at the sight. Some Capetonians were even dancing and enjoying the outdoor set, seemingly unaware they had been duped by Appetite.
