A South African learner channelled her inner news anchor after chaos broke out at her school. On 25 August 2026, TikTok user @senhle_butheleziiey grabbed her phone and started filming from her school yard when a fight escalated, and alleged gunshots rang out.

The footage was in a classic citizen journalism style. It was shot outdoors as she walked through a crowd of uniformed learners running around. She was reporting directly to camera with the confidence of a seasoned journalist.
