A South African businesswoman is going viral after sharing her R25,000 Facebook Marketplace car find with the world. Poeletso posted the TikTok video on 6 September 2026, inviting her followers to join her on a journey to fix up her budget buy.

She explained in the video that her cleaning business made the purchase a necessity. Travelling to clients regularly meant she needed something small, fuel-efficient, and practical enough to carry her cleaning machines and staff. After searching on Facebook Marketplace, she settled on a 2015 Chevrolet Spark for R25,000.

The car, she admitted, came with a fair share of problems. The immobiliser was not working, leaving her to manually lock and unlock the car with the key. The seats were filthy, the headlights needed polishing, one door refused to open, and the paintwork had seen better days after more than a decade on the road. The radio was also uncertain.

Poeletso sees the positives

Despite the long list of fixes ahead, Poeletso was not discouraged. The engine started without any trouble, which she described as the most important thing. She also pointed out that car detailing is already part of her business offering, meaning the dirty seats and cloudy headlights were well within her ability to sort out herself.

She told her followers she plans to tackle the repairs over the coming weeks, from a full valet to sorting out the central locking system, and will document everything along the way.
