GAUTENG — A third suspect has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting in Reiger Park on 7 August 2026, in which two police officers and two civilians were killed.
The Hawks' Serious Organised Crime Investigation team, based in Germiston, arrested a 27-year-old man in Ekurhuleni on 19 August following an intelligence-driven operation. The South African Police Service announced the development on 20 August via its official social media channels. It
The suspect is expected to appear before the Boksburg Magistrates' Court on 21 August 2026 and faces charges identical to those brought against his two co-accused, one of whom is reportedly a relative.

Earlier arrests in the Reiger Park murder
Two other suspects, Regan Collis (23) and Jamal Meyer (24), were arrested before this latest development. Both are scheduled to appear in court on 25 August for a formal bail hearing.
The Reiger Park shooting occurred on the evening of 7 August 2026 and claimed four lives. Among the dead were two members of the SAPS Anti-Gang Unit: Constable Thapelo Tlomatsane (29) and Constable Sphiwe Sibeko (28). Two civilians, Jaydin Magerman and Rolene Lessing, also died in the attack.
