South Africans react to the latest development

The announcement of an additional charge drew an immediate reaction online, with users debating both the nature of the firearm and the pace at which charges are being added.

@ashseraka asked:

"The firearm was not his service pistol?"

@Hoerang26 responded:

"Not a service pistol, hence the suspension."

@afribntu questioned the prosecution's approach:

"Why can't all these 'charges' be presented all at once?"

@TeeZet90 predicted further action:

"There will be more charges. It's over for him."
