Briefly News took a look at what people on social media were saying about Gavin Hunt:
@MbalulaFikile:
"Gavin Hunt is a good coach whatever happened between him and Kaizer Chiefs. He has proven himself over and over again with different clubs. We respect Kaizer Chiefs right to hire and fire. All the best to Gavin."
@BigWordKomphela:
"Am I surprised Kaizer Chiefs have terminated Gavin Hunt’s contract?
Look Rob, if the children are always crying even when you have changed the babysitters, maybe it’s time to consider that the problem could be within the family.
I hope you understand...♂️
@robertmarawa."
@SkepeMatsebane:
"Stuart Baxter is coming into the country next week. He's taking over as the new Kaizer Chiefs coach in the new season. This is after Gavin Hunt was sacked as Kaizer Chiefs coach today. Arthur Zwane takes over as interim coach to finish the season."
@ShakesRampedi:
"I'm really surprised Kaizer Chiefs have sacked Gavin Hunt. He should have done better this season, yes, but he hasn't had his own players to work with. I hope the club is this cutthroat as well with the squad at the end of the season."
Earlier, Briefly News reported that Kaizer Chiefs have just announced the sacking of longtime coach Gavin Hunt. It took to its official Twitter account to share the news.
In the interim, assistant coaches Arthur Zwane and Dillon Sheppard will take control of the senior team. The company has ominously said other announcements would be made soon.
Meanwhile, football fans have taken to the comments section to share their reactions to the news. While some welcome the change of things other social media users are concerned the wrong person got the boot.
