The family of missing Kempton Park runner Elizabeth Mokolo Moselakgomo has been unable to confirm whether a woman's body discovered on Saturday is that of their loved one, with a formal identification scheduled for Monday at the Germiston mortuary.
Moselakgomo, 38, popularly known as "Tsontso", went missing after she left her home in Rhodesfield for an afternoon run on Wednesday. She never returned, and it was her eight-year-old daughter who first raised the alarm about her absence.
Family awaits formal identification
Family spokesperson Genavieve Beukes confirmed that relatives who viewed the body at the mortuary were unable to make a positive identification due to the severity of injuries to the woman's face. The family is expected to undergo an official identification process at the Germiston mortuary on Monday.
In the meantime, the family has urged the public to refrain from sharing unverified information about Moselakgomo's whereabouts or speculating about the identity of the deceased woman until official confirmation is received.
Task Team established by SAPS
Acting National Commissioner Lieutenant General Puleng Dimpane ordered the immediate formation of a dedicated task team in response to the discoveries. The team is led by Gauteng Deputy Provincial Commissioner Major General Mbuso Khumalo and brings together specialised units, including the Murder and Robbery Unit and the Investigative Psychology Unit.

Adding urgency to the situation, a 38-year-old woman named Elizabeth went missing while out on a run in the same Kempton Park area.
