It was sweet revenge for the Norwegian, who was as surprised as anyone after the Chelsea left-back mentioned him in a mocking song after his Euro 2024 success with Spain.
Cucurella, who had a solid outing in Germany, sang that Haaland was trembling when he saw him. The song set the stage for an exciting encounter when the two met in the opening game of the new season on August 18.
Haaland ignores Cucurella's call for help
Apart from the goal, footage showed Haaland ignoring Cucurella's pleas to help him after he went down with cramp in the 78th minute.
The former Brighton defender was seen asking Haaland for help but the striker waltzed past him as Cucurella shouted at him.

Speaking after the game, Haaland addressed the song incident after scoring in his third successive opening game of a Premier League season.
"Cucurella is a funny man; last season, he asked for my shirt, and now he sings a song about me," he told Jan Aage Fjørtoft via Viaplay.
Haaland then posted a couple of photos on Instagram stories showing how he scored the first goal despite Cucurella's efforts to stop him. Mateo Kovacic added a second one for the visitors late on to seal the win for the champions.
Why Chelsea were denied penalty vs Man City
Kovacic was in the thick of the action at his former stomping ground. Before his beauty goal, the Croat was involved in a controversial moment at the other end.
The former Blue handled the ball off a Malo Gusto shot, but referee Anthony Taylor waved away Chelsea's appeals for a penalty.
