How Arsenal beat Man United

The Red Devils stifled the Gunners in the first half with a solid performance, although they lacked the cutting edge. They kept the hosts quiet in the first half but came close to conceding corners.

In the second half, the visitors produced a listless performance. Jurrien Timber opened the scoring in the 54th minute after flicking off Declan Rice's corner kick, per Sky Sports.

William Saliba doubled the load by inadvertently turning in another corner in the 73rd to secure the three points. Man United struggled to assert themselves after the Gunners took a two-goal lead.

They struggled to defend Arsenal's dangerous corner routine, which has brought them success since last season. The Gunners are now seven points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool.

Why did Rashford get blamed?

The forward, brought on as a substitute in the 59th minute, gave away a corner that resulted in Saliba's goal. He tried to clear the ball from the corner, but his trick did not come off.

@unitedway1999:

"Rashford did this and the first corner goal came from a lost possession by Garnacho. These are our attackers."

@Moparis__:

"The look Mazraoui gave to Rashford when he conceded the corner was the funniest thing. Man felt fully betrayed."

@MUFC_redarmy99:

"Just conceded from Rashford trying that flick and giving a corner away, so frustrating."

@LoEl81:

"Sorry Marcus Rashford. If you concede a corner against Arsenal through a keeper’s save or defender’s block, fair enough. Conceding a corner against them by trying to flick it up at your own corner flag is embarrassing."

Amorim's side will look to bounce back when they face Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Saliba scores with his backside

Briefly News earlier reported that the Gunners showcased their prowess from set pieces, scoring twice from corners to hand Manchester United their first defeat since Erik ten Hag's departure.

Jurrien Timber opened the scoring in the 54th minute, redirecting Declan Rice's corner past Andre Onana. The second goal sparked reactions as a Bukayo Saka corner eventually bounced off William Saliba's backside, sealing Arsenal's emphatic win.
