Marcus Rashford: 5 Clubs ‘Wantaway’ Manchester United Forward Could Join
- Marcus Rashford has stated he is ready to leave Manchester United after he was dropped for the Manchester derby
- Rashford threw his long-term future at Old Trafford into doubt even as the INEOS ownership reportedly considers selling him
- Briefly News looks at the clubs the England international could join as he aims to resuscitate his career that has seemingly stalled
If his recent sentiments are anything to by, Marcus Rashford's time at Manchester United could be coming to an end soon.
Rashford admitted that he was ready to consider his next steps and pursue a new challenge away from his boyhood club.
Whether or not this has stemmed from Ruben Amorim's decision to drop him for the Manchester derby remains unknown, but his admission is set to swing the rumour mill into action.
At 27 years, many can argue that Rashford has only shown glimpses of his talent. His run after the 2022 World Cup remains the best version of Rashford we have ever seen, but inconsistency is his major undoing.

Clubs Marcus Rashford could join if he leaves Manchester United
However, that notwithstanding, his skillset could still come in handy for a couple of clubs across Europe. Briefly News looks at the clubs he could join.
1. Arsenal
Transfers between the two rivals are not something new. It is no secret that Mikel Arteta desperately needs to improve his attack if the Gunners can lodge a serious title campaign.
The left-wing and centre-forward positions have come under sharp scrutiny this season. Whether Rashford would be an upgrade to the current options Arsenal have remains up for debate, but if Arteta can get him firing, it would be decent business.
2. Chelsea
Until Tuesday morning, Chelsea would have had no business pursuing a deal for Rashford. However, following Mykhailo Mudryk's provisional suspension, the left-wing position at Stamford Bridge has just opened up.
Enzo Maresca has been vocal about having two players in each position and Mudryk's suspension now leaves him short in that area. A short-term deal in January to have Rashford follow his former teammate Jadon Sancho doesn't sound like a far-fetched idea.
3. Paris Saint-Germain
Following Kylian Mbappe's exit, PSG has struggled without a star player this season. The club was adamant about trying a new approach, but it is clearly not working, and Champions League elimination is a real possibility.
Rashford can't compare to the previous star powers they have had in the past, like Mbappe, Neymar, Lionel Messi or even Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but he is surely a level above every player on their roster currently.
4. Saudi Arabia
Saudi clubs would jump at the opportunity to lure another big name to their league. For a player who still harbours Champions League ambitions and playing for his country, going East might not be an option at the moment, but if he does, he will be smiling all the way to the bank.
5. Barcelona
This would probably be a stretch given the club's financial woes, but it is still feasible on paper. At 36, Robert Lewandowski is not getting any younger, and Rashford's ability to play through the middle could play into his mind.
The Blaugrana are stacked with options up front, but a Rashford move could provide more competition for the likes of Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati, who, between injuries and poor form, haven't been at their best in recent seasons.
Amorim explains Rashford and Garnacho's absence
Briefly News also reported that Amorim shed light on his decision to leave out Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho from the squad for the highly anticipated Manchester derby.
While Rashford and Garnacho's absence surprised fans, Amorim assured that both players remain integral to his long-term plans. He cited tactical considerations and squad management as key factors behind the omissions.
