The Glamour Boys have maintained a good performance both in the Betway Premiership and on the continent in the CAF Confederation Cup. Amakhosi are out of the Carling Knockout Cup after losing to Stellenbosch in the Round of 16.

They are still competing in the CAF Confederation Cup after knocking out AS Simba of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the second preliminary round and are still looking forward to retaining the Nedbank Cup after winning last season's edition.

Negative effect of international breaks on Chiefs

Football analyst Uche Anuma, in an exclusive chat with Briefly News, shared his thoughts on international breaks affecting Kaizer Chiefs' form this season.

"One of the teams that would be negatively affected by these back-to-back international breaks are Kaizer Chiefs," he said.
"Anytime Chiefs are on a good run, their momentum is halted by an international break in between. They need consistent games.
"The Africa Cup of Nations is coming in December also, which means club football will hold again with players going to represent their respective countries."

Anuma went further to give his opinion on Kaizer Chiefs' chances of winning the Betway Premiership this season and also retaining the Nedbank Cup title.

"I rated Kaizer Chiefs as one of the favourites to win the Betway Premiership before the season started, and I am still sticking to that decision that they remain a contender, but not top favourites because I think Orlando Pirates' performance so far has shown they are bigger favourites," he added.

"I think they can do well in the CAF Confederation Cup if they can find a solution to not lose focus anytime the league goes on break.
"The Nedbank Cup is another competition that I feel they can still retain this season, if they take it seriously like they did last season."
