Orlando Pirates are facing a demanding period as their MTN8 campaign, Betway Premiership commitments and CAF Champions League return begin to overlap. The Buccaneers' calendar is set to become increasingly crowded from this weekend.
Pirates' immediate focus is the MTN8, with Sekhukhune United standing between them and another appearance in the final. The first leg takes place at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday, 22 August, before the Buccaneers host the return fixture at Orlando Amstel Arena.
Pirates are chasing a record-extending 15th MTN8 title.
Betway Premiership and Champions League
The South African reports that the Buccaneers have also started their league campaign strongly. They collected seven points from their opening three matches, leaving them at the summit of the Betway Premiership at this stage.
Their continental campaign will then begin in September. Pirates are scheduled to face La Cure Waves in the CAF Champions League first preliminary round, with matches set for 5 and 12 September 2026.
