Man pays heartfelt tribute to his late mom after graduating with PhD

A PhD graduate has paid a heartfelt tribute to his late mother for taking him through school and making it possible to achieve the highest academic qualification.

McLean Sibanda graduated recently with a Doctor of Laws from the University of South Africa (UNISA), Briefly.co.za gathered.

In a Twitter post, he thanked his late mom, supervisor, family, and all those who supported him to achieve his dream.

In subsequent tweets, McLean revealed the title of his doctoral thesis — "Enabling Intellectual Property and Innovation Systems for South Africa's Development & Competitiveness."

It explores South Africa's performance in the area of patents statistics in comparison with other BRICS countries.
