Meet the man who creates healing mixture to cure common baby illnesses

Lwazi Marawu is the owner and founder of Mazoyi Group – the company that produces the increasingly popular Mazoyi Mixture.

Mazoyi Mixture medicinal bottles are used to cure common illnesses such as colic, eczema, phlegm and wind in babies and toddlers.

The mixtures are made using various herbs, with Aloe as a key ingredient.

The 33-year-old launched his business in 2009 and is now selling to a host of pharmacies, supermarkets and chain stores.

Hailing from Butterworth in the Eastern Cape, he was inspired to start his venture after seeing how easily young children are affected by the four illnesses.

Marawu was able to build a factory with machinery in Alice thanks to a loan from the Raymond Mhlaba Municipality to the tune of R50 000.

SowetanLIVE reported that the popular mixtures have been tested by the Agricultural Research Council and the Egolibio Life Sciences Incubator.

Briefly.co.za understands that Marawu is a degree holder with Public Management as his major.

Marawu says that irrespective of its growth, the company doesn’t lose focus on its target market, which are people in rural communities.

Fourteen people are currently employed by the innovative business.
