The poll covered some 32 different catagories of consumer goods available in the South African marketplace.
These results seem to indicate that South African consumers have a love affair with takeaway chicken with four of the top ten specialising in chicken.
The top 10 fast food restaurants in South Africa are:
1. Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC)
2. Nandos Chicken
3. Domino’s Pizza
4. Steers
5. McDonald’s
6. Chicken Licken
7. Roman’s Pizza
8. Fish and Chip Co.
9. Something Fishy
10. Galito’s
Briefly.co.za learned from Fin24.com that KFC also won the award for South Africa’s favourite overall brand beating out South Korean behemoth Samsung to the top spot.
KFC’s marketing manager Jacques Cronje says the award is vindication for the incredibly hard work the brand had undertaken over a number of years to freshen its stores and image.
Cronje said the award meant that he and his team were on the right track and speaking to consumers in fresh exciting ways.
KFC entered into a partnership with UberEATS in June which enabled customers to order meals and have them delivered to their homes by the Uber taxi network.
