Veteran songstress and songwriter Yvonne Chaka Chaka has challenged artists from all over the world to help each other amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Umqombothi hitmaker took to Instagram to urge her peers in the creative industry to assist artists who are struggling financially due to the coronavirus lockdown in most parts of the world.

The singer said she understands that most creatives are going through a tough time because they can't make money during these trying times as lockdown regulations don't allow artists to go out and perform.

"To the creative industry of the world, Covid-19 has put everything into a standstill. We can't move, we can't perform, we can't go to theatres, we cant go anywhere. But with that said, music is love, music is king. We may have been separated, but you know what, nothing can divide us. Music is love."

The legendary muso further urged those artists who can afford to help struggling ones to do so.

"If you're able to help a fellow artist, wherever you're in the world, please do so because times are tough. We are in this together, one love one heart."
