Simphiwe Dana's wonderful mother went out of retirement to help fight this awful pandemic and has now become a victim of it.
This pandemic has sent the entire globe into a state of panic and shock and it doesn’t seem to be getting any better.
Briefly.co.za learnt that Simphiwe’s elderly mother recently tested positive for Covid-19 and she is extremely concerned.
Simphiwe’s mother fearlessly came out of retirement as a nurse to help elderly people during this pandemic.
Emerging herself in an environment with people (the elderly) who are extremely susceptible to the virus, Simphiwe’s mother has found herself having contracted it.
So may brave medical personnel, law enforcement agents, shop assistants and many other superheroes have risked their lives to save others and try to keep some form of normality for the masses.

Taking to social media Simphiwe shared the horrible news, expressing how this was her biggest fear.
When Simphiwe found out that her mother was going to help others, she was filled with worry but also immense pride.
What Simphiwe’s mother did is extremely noble and we thank her for her service and send an abundance of healing and strength.

“My mom has been diagnosed with the coronavirus. She is a retired nurse who went back to work for an old age home because nursing to her is a calling. She is recovering at home and seems to be OK. She has diabetes. Still, I have faith she will pull through.”
