Mpendulo Buthelezi, a former presenter of the popular TV dance show Jika Majika, is keeping it simple on the streets.

Briefly.co.za learned that he's still presenting - but this time he's presenting shoes to his customers on Newtown, Johannesburg.

The 34-year-old talent told Daily Sun that he's been selling shoes on the streets for several years now alongside six friends.

Mpendulo said he sees things differently from most people:

To me, what I’m doing is still presenting. I present shoes every day and my audience is still the same.
I still meet people who feel sorry for me and ask what happened. My response is that this is what is happening now. This is Jika Majika in the form of shoes.

He added that his passion for shoes began when he was still in high school. The brand he's selling is the same one he wore on the TV show.

He said:

My brand is called Scathulo and what is interesting about these shoes is that I can colour code them according to the client’s need. They are a mix of suede and leather.

He hopes his brand would grow in popularity and eventually be sold nationally.

He's also a keen actor and has appeared in a film called Kutsa as a postman and in a forthcoming one titled Hela Banna.
