AKA has taken to social media to call President Cyril Ramaphosa out for being unfit to lead the country and the African Union. AKA was reacting to the recent violence in Nigeria.
The star slammed the African Union and African leaders, especially Ramaphosa. In a Twitter rant on Wednesday, 21 October the opinionated rapper shared that the African Union is a "joke".
"The African Union is a joke. What’s worse, is that Cyril Ramaphosa is its President."
The Fela In Versace hitmaker also slammed the Nigerian government for having no regard for the life of its citizens.
"How can people shoot to KILL their own countrymen and women? This is insane. We are living in an insane time in human history. #EndSARS Sending love and strength to Naija."
He called out African leaders for failing to call out each other because "absolute power corrupts absolutely".
AKA pointed out that 60% of Africa’s population is under 25 years old and that the average age of its 10 oldest leaders is 78.
"The real reason they don’t give a sh*t about our futures is because they won’t be around to see it."
One tweep @Tevin8r asked Supa Mega during his rant:
"The same Cyril Ramaphosa you were endorsing and talking to on video call during elections?"
AKA, who was a staunch supporter of the ANC during the last presidential elections, did not mince his words when he replied to the tweep. He replied:
"Yes the same one. Are there two Cyril Ramaphosas??? I’m confused. What are you saying?"
Some of AKA fans took to his comment section to share their views after he criticised Ramaphosa. Check some of their comments below:
@YolandaKhuzway2 said:
"Then why are YOU not video calling him now or is it that he is not taking your calls currently cause elections are finished and he is now President. Why do I feel like you got played."
@ma_monwabisi wrote:
"Don't tell us, video call him."
@Kholofelokim commented:
"I love AKA for this. He doesn't buy face. Yes he had hope, most of us did. However Cyril has proven to be an ignorant leader and neither AKA nor anyone should be held hostage from telling the truth merely because they supported Cyril Ramaphosa in the beginning of his tenure."
@Gxbson3 added:
"Leave AKA alone, we all thought Cyril was the chosen one at some point."
In other news, Briefly.co.za reported that AKA took to social media to hype up his fans about six "hits" he created in the space of four hours.
Supa Mega shared a screenshot of Don Design's tweet on his Instagram on Tuesday, 20 October. On the screenshot, Don Design shares that he saw AKA create not just one but six hit records in four hours. Don Design is a creative director, fashion designer and DJ. He recently dropped a song titled Python featuring Mega and Moozlie.
"I just witnessed @akaworldwide make 6 HIT records in 4 hours... emphasis on the word HIT."
AKA is preparing to drop his much-anticipated project titled Bhovamania on 6 November. The star's fans have been waiting for the EP since he dropped three songs in one day a few months ago. The Fela In Versace hitmaker's fans have shared mixed reactions to Don Design's tweet. One tweep samaz01 said:
"Allow us to rate the songs ourselves, emphasis on the word RATE."
