Babes Wodumo is no stranger to controversy and ever since the South African Music Awards she has been wary.

Not only was her hit album Gqom Queen, but Vol. 1, released in 2016 was also nominated for Song of the Year but failed to win, the album had one of 2016's hottest tracks on it Wololo.

She has been nominated again this year for the KZN Entertainment Awards (KZNEA) for Best Female Artist.

Babes took to Instagram to share how she felt about it and was candid in her reaction.

"I'm not saying anything about my nomination on #kznea but the honest truth is that you'll know how it's been before and I'm still afraid since I felt like I've been cheated before and the fact that we can't see the behind the scene's voting process as nominees, still doesn't sit well with me."

However, she is prepared to get her hopes up and give this award ceremony a chance.

"But I want to take a chance and give this opportunity to you guys so nizoba ofakazi bami ekugcineni. Please bring this to us, cause this is for us."

Earlier, Briefly.co.za reported that the combination we have all been waiting for is finally here. DJ Tira is giving the people what they want at this year's Fact! Durban Rocks concert by bringing to the stage both Kamo Mphela and Babes Wodumo.

The Durban-based music producer took to social media to share a snippet of the duo practising for the big event and it looked absolutely lit.

He captioned the video:

"@kamo_mphelaxx and @babes_wodumo warming up for Fact Durban Rocks recording last night 31 Dec FDR is ushering you to 2021 stay tuned"

Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za previously reported that DJ Tira has responded to the banning of December concerts in KwaZulu-Natal. KZN Premier Sihle Zikalala recently announced that major festive season concerts such as DJ Tira's Fact! Durban Rocks have been cancelled in the province in order to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

The Afrotainment boss has shared that the annual Fact Durban Rocks party, which takes place on New Year's Eve, will continue as planned but without a live audience. The Nguwe hitmaker wrote in a statement:

"We are working on a virtual concert that will make sure that people have something to stay for at home this festive."

On the statement shared by entertainment commentator Phil Mphela on Twitter, DJ Tira added that artists such as Sjava, Simmy, Nomcebo Zikode and Blaq Diamond, among others, will be on stage during the virtual concert.
