Their fans and peers in the entertainment industry have already started sending them sweet birthday messages on different social media platforms. Some have planned private birthday parties for later on on Wednesday while others will spend their time at home with their loved ones.
Briefly.co.za takes a look at three of our top entertainers who were born on this important day in the South African calendar. Check some of them out below:
1. Cassper Nyovest
The rapper was born on 12 December, 1990 in Mahikeng, North West. Mufasa is one of the most popular musicians in Mzansi. The star's music is on high rotation on TV and radio stations across the country and some parts of the world. The Amademoni hitmaker is not just a musician but he is also the owner of Family Tree Records. Cassper Nyovest has also won countless awards since he became a professional recording artist.
2. Dineo Ranaka
The media personality was born on 16 December, 1983 in Soweto, Gauteng. She is a radio and TV presenter, actress and a club DJ. The star has worked on top radio stations such as Metro FM and YFM. The reality TV star began her career in the entertainment industry as a trainee on 5FM. She is currently the co-host of The Bridge on Metro FM with Lerato Kganyago and Somizi.
3. Claire Johnston
The lead vocalist of Mzansi band Mango Groove was born on 16 December, 1967 in the South of England. Claire is an Anglo-South African singer and songwriter. The musician has lived in Mzansi since the age of three. The artist joined Mango Groove back when she was only 17 years of old. The star has since recorded six studio albums with the band, toured extensively and has also dropped two solo albums.
In other entertainment news, Briefly.co.za reported that DJ Zinhle, Black Coffee and DJ Tira, among other Mzansi musicians, took to social media on Sunday, 29 November to share sweet birthday messages to their senior industry peer, DJ Oskido.
Oskido has played a huge role in developing the careers of many Mzansi artists including the Umlilo hitmaker, Black Coffee and Makoya Bearings. The entertainers made sure that they wish their mentor a happy birthday on Sunday. DJ Zinhle took to Instagram and wrote:
"Happy Birthday to the kindest guy I know. @oskidoibelieve thank you for everything you are. God bless and keep you."
The Drive hitmaker asked his followers to help him wish Oskido a special day. The internationally-renowned DJ Black Coffee wrote:
"Help me wish my big brother the Legend @oskidoibelieve a happy birthday. We love and celebrate you Bhuda."
The Thank You Mr DJ hitmaker took to Oskido's comment section on the photo-sharing app and referred to him as his father. DJ Tira said:
"Happy Birthday my father. The one and only Rockafella."
