South Africans are being featured more regularly overseas such as Black Coffee, Charlize Theron, Elon Musk and Trevor Noah.

Two more South Africans are being recognised for their talent in Hollywood. Thuso Mbedu and Nomzamo Mbatha have been given the nod as they feature in Essence’s 20 Young Black Hollywood stars To Watch.

Nomzamo Mbatha comes in at number nine and has worked with some big names like Eddie Murphy. She landed a role in Coming 2 America, Murphy's sequel to the popular movie from decades ago.

Thuso Mbedu made her international debut in The Underground Railroad and she is likey to land some big roles int he future. She cut her acting teeth in her teens in the dramas Snake Park and Scandal.

These two ladies have made South Africa proud and are paving the way for more young men and women on the silver screen.

Earlier, Briefly.co.za South African-born actress Nomzamo Mbatha is putting it out to the universe that she wants to star as Storm in the Marvel Cinematic Universe(MCU).

The actress struck gold when she was cast in Coming 2 America and is ready to strike again while the iron is still hot.

Taking to Instagram, Mbatha posted fan art of the Storm character and tagged Marvel execs on the post. Her followers agreed that Zamo would totally nail the character.

In other news, Thuso Mbedu is headed for the stars and we love to see it. According to reports, the Mzansi actress has been shortlisted for a role in a Disney series.

The Emmy-nominated actress may be joining the Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi in his upcoming series coming to the American streaming service Disney+.

According to reports, Thuso is one of the three actresses who are gunning for the position.

Her competition includes Anula Navlekar and Naomi Scott, reports Twitter account @DiscussingFilm.
