- Siv Ngesi has been doing a lot of drag lately and has bagged himself a deal with Adidas for his efforts
- Even though Siv has been doing drag for a very short time, some people feel like he's been making an impact
- Others, on the other hand, are not impressed and think the opportunity should've been given to someone else in the community
Mzansi actor and television host Siv Ngesi has bagged a deal with Adidas. Siv recently experimented with drag and created his alter ego, Sivanna.
Fans had a mixed reaction to Siv bagging the deal, others just felt that it's not fair because drag has been around for a while in South Africa and hasn't received much recognition.
Siv took to social media to share that he's got a deal with Adidas through his drag look, Sivanna:
"Sivanna is a month and 2 days old and she’s already shooting with @adidasZA @WeAreIvyPark, #icypark, #adidasxivypark," said Siv.
After he posted the snaps, people took to the comments to let Siv know that although they were happy for him, there's a bit of a disconnect in the LGBTQI community. Take a look at some of the mixed reactions below:
"I love you, but uhm, this is the definition of taking up somebody else's space. One month vs. Lifetimes of work from revered SA queens - it doesn't sit right."
"She’s killing the game! I need to get her number bro she needs her own show."
"This not even about a straight man "dressing up"! This is about "taking space from working queens who make drag their job and life's work."
"Siv has been a fierce ally to the LGBTIQA+ community. Sivanna started as a celebration of that. I'm not mad that Sivanna gets paid, make up is expensive."
Briefly.co.za previously reported that Siv Ngesi shared his drag queen transformation and served looks. SAFTA winner and actor Siv Ngesi took part in the trending #BussItChallenge. He dressed up as a drag queen in the video and starting twerking for the camera in his unique look.
