The passing of Menzi Ngubane has left South Africa grieving the loss of a very special man. However, the one person who was affected the most by the death recently penned a tribute that did not leave a single dry eye.
Ngubane’s widow, Sikelewa, wrote a moving letter to her late husband. Briefly.co.za gathered that the note was read at the actor’s funeral.
Part of her tribute mentioned how she knew they would be together when she first saw him on Yizo Yizo.
“You promised me that we will be together until we are 100 years but you broke that promise. I am so lost without you. We had so many plans Dali, uthi ngenze njani manje (what must I do now)?
“Thank you for loving me, you made me feel so special. You have set the bar so high no man will be able to reach it. I am broken and it will take time to go back, I doubt I will ever be the same again.”
The tribute was read at Ngubane’s funeral by her sister.
Briefly.co.za had previously reported that emotions were running high on Thursday, 18 March as veteran actor Menzi Ngubane's family and friends held a memorial service in his honour. Ngubane made a massive impact on the TV industry and had a memorial worthy of his outstanding work.
Many gathered at the Assemblies Of God Sandton Church to celebrate the life of the late actor. A moment of silence was held by the MCs of Ngubane's memorial in an honest and heartwarming tribute.
Ngubane had a series of death hoax's throughout his career and the most recent one reportedly upset him. According to Ayanda Borotho, Ngubane said his time to die was far off from that death hoax while his brother Bonny Ngubane stated the same in his memorial speech.
A report by TimesLIVE stated that Actress Sonia Mbele, Baby Cele, Sophie Lichaba and make-up artist Bongi Mlotshwa were in attendance while Patrick Shai, Thato Molamu and Abdul Khoza honoured Ngubane with heartfelt speeches.
EWN reported that Ngubane will be buried on Saturday, 20 March, in his hometown of Ladysmith in KZN.
Briefly.co.za had previously reported the Ngubane family suffered another loss after the late Menzi Ngubane’s father passed away. According to the Daily Sun, the family have confirmed that Baba Ngubane is no more.
According to the publication, the 90-year-old died just a few days after his son departed. Details of the elderly man’s death have not yet been released.
Menzi Ngubane had a close relationship with his father and had once posted that he had been celebrating the man’s 90th birthday.
The Fergusons were just two of the many people who took to social media recently to send their condolences to Menzi Ngubane's family.
