The 1-0 win for Kaizer Chiefs over arch-rivals Orlando Pirates did not only grab the attention of sports fanatics but that of a politician such as EFF's Mbuyiseni Ndlozi.
Ndlozi could not hold his excitement when he took to Twitter to praise Amakhosi's goal netted by talisman Samir Nurkovic at FNB Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Serbian stunned goalkeeper Siyabonga Mpontshane with an overhead kick, a goal that stunned the opposing defence and gave Mponsthane no chance to save it.
Resulting from the goal that redeemed the Naturena-based giants as far as the Soweto Derby is concerned, Ndlozi captioned the video as a must-watch.
The former Wits University student's video is a hit on Twitter as Amakhosi celebrate the win over the Soweto rivals where some said they will finally have peace.
@NdinguJohn tweeted:
“Finally we can have peace yooh...”
@Matlhapa Abbey said:
After how long and after how many games??? Chiefs Supporters are exactly the same as all the Useless Political parties in SA who are putting the tax payers money into their pockets. Good when coming to make Noises but nothing to show."
@Freddy FMG responded and reminded the Fighers' leader he should not exaggerate.
“When we finished Pirate... I thought it’s like 6 goals or something you guys barely won.. I over exaggerating.”
@MA_Dawu responded and her message suggested she was not really happy with the result:
“We saw it (on) TV. Really no need to rub it in.”
To IamLungelo_SA, he expressed disappointment to learn that Ndlozi was a Khosi supporter.
“Mhh Mr. Ndlozi you are a Chiefs supporter...I'm so disappointed.”
However, @Nqobizwen1 had a brilliant response to the EFF leader, saying the Buccaneers could not beat coach Gavin Hutns' troops on a public holiday.
“What kind of a parent can beat their child on Human's Rights Day? Pirates is not like the brutal apartheid cops and the present SAPS members.”
Earlier, Briefly.co.za reported that South Africa's Finance Minister, Tito Mboweni, is also a Glamour Boys follower as he recently displayed his passion.
Mboweni loves Chiefs and headed to his Twitter page to wholeheartedly endorse the yellow and black team with a heartfelt tweet about how they are going to secure a win during every match that they play in 2021.
Although his wish has not really been granted as coach Gavin Hunt's men are struggling despite the win over Pirates, many supporters will hope the club has now turned the corner.
