Briefly.co.za previously reported that social media users flooded the internet on veteran newsreader Noxolo Grootboom's last day in the office. After 37 years, Grootboom's last day has been made extra special with tribute pouring in for her.

Her last broadcast was so important that even President Cyril Ramaphosa delayed his national address so as not to impose on her time. Initially, the president's broadcast was scheduled for 19:00 pm but this clashed with Grootboom's last appearance.
